Litron Laboratories
Society of Toxicology Meeting
March 16 - March 20, 2008

Please join us at this year's SOT meeting, in Seattle, Washington. Recent advances in Litron’s MicroFlow technology will be highlighted in three posters:

Rapid Assessment of the Effects of Radiation Exposure via Flow Cytometric Analysis of Whole Blood

Describes a novel technique for the estimation of radiation exposure using a small amount of blood. This information is important in the event of (accidental or intentional) large-scale human radiation exposure scenarios. This study was conducted in collaboration with the University of Rochester Medical Center. [Poster #158, Monday, March 17, 9:30 am to 11:00 am]

In Vitro Micronuclei Scored by Flow Cytometry: An International, Multi-Laboratory Trial

Describes an international multi-laboratory validation trial using Litron’s In Vitro MicroFlow method. In vitro micronucleus assessment is experiencing increased use as companies move away from animal research. Discover how this assay has been performed at Novartis Pharmacology AG, Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical R&D, and GlaxoSmithKline. [Poster #2244, Thursday, March 20, 8:30 am to 10:15 am]

Time-Related Profiles of Micronucleated PCEs and NCEs in Both Blood and Bone Marrow as Measured by Flow Cytometry

Describes the implementation of Litron’s MicroFlow technology at Covance Laboratories in the US. Covance and Litron collaborated to produce a thorough investigation of blood and bone marrow micronuclei assessments, both by flow cytometry and microscopy. [Poster #2245, Thursday, March 20, 8:30 am to 10:15 am]
