MicroFlow® Kits (in vivo)
Micronucleus Testing at the Speed of Light

MicroFlow kits significantly improve the speed and objectivity of scoring samples during a routine safety evaluation known as the Micronucleus Test. The in vivo Micronucleus Test is widely accepted by international regulatory bodies as a way of measuring DNA damage in red blood cells. MicroFlow data is accepted by the US FDA, and this method addresses all recommendations made by the International Workshop on Genotoxicity Test Procedures (IWGTP).

Why Choose MicroFlow?
Better Data, Faster Results

For researchers who work within very tight time constraints, faster and more reliable testing can be the difference between breakthroughs and disappointments. This in vivo method offers researchers a number of clear advantages:

  • Faster Results: Results from scoring a complete in vivo test are typically obtained in just one day. Many more analyses can now be performed in the same time, allowing your research can leap ahead by many weeks each time you perform a micronucleus test.
  • Superior Data: Using the MicroFlow method, micronucleus counts are determined within a population of 20,000 reticulocytes (versus only 2,000 by traditional microscopic methods). This method also vastly reduces the opportunity for human error which is present when counts are obtained by microscopy. The MicroFlow method is reliable and transferable.
  • Greater Value: By simply taking a few drops of blood, MicroFlow kits can easily offer another significant endpoint to existing animal studies. In this way, a researcher can obtain the most data from each animal, reduce overall costs, and make better decisions, earlier.

Who Should Use MicroFlow Kits?

  • Contract Research and Testing Organizations (CROs and CTOs)
  • Pharmaceutical companies (preclinical testing / clinical trials / post market surveillance)
  • Chemical and tobacco companies
  • Medical and dental device manufacturers
  • Biotechnology research organizations
  • University and academic research laboratories
  • Government institutes and the military
