Litron's CEO Honored

On Thursday, January 22, 2008, the Women’s Council of the Rochester Business Council honored 17 outstanding leaders in the community. The ATHENA Award supports and celebrates leaders who demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative, provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community, and assist women in reaching their full leadership potential.

Dorothea Torous, one of the nominators shares her thoughts here. “We all thought that Carol was an obvious and deserving candidate for the Athena award, and by virtue of her selection as a finalist, so did the nominating committee. After Andrew Tometsko’s passing in 1994, she has worked tirelessly to take Litron from a small start-up company to one that is respected and recognized worldwide for the technology it has developed. Nominating Carol for this prestigious award allowed us to pay tribute to a special friend, mentor, and employer. Her numerous and significant personal and professional contributions have reached far beyond the Rochester community and always resonate with her desire to help people. My colleagues and I are honored to have nominated Carol.”
